A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer just trying to figure shit out. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer delving into the inherent, and often accidental, racism and sexism that plague all of the things that I love. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer standing on her soapbox. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer looking for more like herself. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer ranting about the lack of female leads in the American Hard Rock/Heavy Metal scene. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer fighting tokenism within feminist/atheist/skeptic/geek circles. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer procrastinating from finishing her first SF/F novel. A Black feminist atheist skeptic geek writer who embraces all of the former by rejecting their respective stereotypes. And let’s not forget the bacon.

And now for the Commenting Policy:

It has come to my attention that the internet is teaming with trolls. That’s all fine and dandy, just don’t think that you can freely troll here. The standard Rules of Decency apply here:

  • Purveyors of racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic hate speech will be fed to my direwolves. I will be delving into a lot of “controversial” topics here as I personally relate to them. That means I will be revealing, exploring, and hopefully eradicating plenty of my own prejudices here. That does not automatically give you license to do the same in my comments section. Starting a dialogue is one thing; going off on a hater rant is another. If you wish to explore your own prejudices,  I would kindly suggest that you start your own blog if you have not done so already.
  • Any personal attacks against each other or me will also not be tolerated. I’m a believer in encouraging intellectual debate, not playground antics.
  • Stonewalling or derailing? Just because those tactics worked for the Bene Gesserit doesn’t mean they’ll work here.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of Commenting Policies, but I understand wholeheartedly why they exist. My policy will be modified as time passes, but as long as we can all [this includes me too] follow Wheaton’s Law, we’ll get along splendidly.
